Q. A die is rolled until it shows a 4. What is the probability that the 6th trial is the final trial?
The probability of not getting a 4 in a throw = 5/6
The probability of getting a 4 in a throw = 1/6
Now since result of each throw is not dependent on the result of previous throw.
so probability of getting a 4 in the 6th trial = (5/6)5 x 1/6
