Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is the world’s largest masonry dam. It was built on the Krishna River at Nagarjuna Sagar in between Nalgonda district of Telangana state and Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh state, India. The construction duration of the dam was between the years of 1955 and 1967. The dam created a water reservoir whose capacity is 11,472,000,000 cubic metres (4.051×1011 cu ft). The dam is 490 feet (150 m) tall and 0.99 miles (1.6 km) long with 26 gates which are 42 feet (13 m) wide and 45 feet (14 m) tall.

At the award ceremony held in Beijing on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, Yu Min (L) received the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award for 2014 from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Yu Min, an 88-year-old nuclear physicist considered the “father of China’s Hydrogen Bomb” has won the country’s top science prize on Friday.
He began serving as a researcher at the Modern Physics Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1951, after graduating from Peking University.

Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood” clinched the top honors at the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday as Hollywood rallied against recent threats to the art of satire.
“Boyhood” won best movie and drama, and Linklater picked up the accolade for best director. Patricia Arquette won best supporting actress.
