[CSAT][CAT] Basic Numeracy – Percentages (Tips & Tricks) – 1

This articles is targeted to both CAT and UPSC Aspirants.

Percentages, though a very small and easy topic is asked in various formats in both the exams CAT as well as UPSC Preslims CSAT Paper -2. These questions if practiced regularly and revised before exams can fetch you extra marks in few seconds.

The main issue to be kept in mind is that the problems from this section is so easy that while practicing you solve it very fast. But if you don’t revise it before your exams, sometimes you get stuck and hit the wrong answer as well waste a lots of time. So revision of such simpler problem before exams is a must.

Coming to the topic, percentages are applied everywhere in life. Consider the case of banks where home loans, car loans, or interest on your savings account is calculated .Whether it is for businessman  investing in share markets or profit calculation of a company. Even at home you need to calculate percent increase in the prices of the household items.

And yeah percentage for the students in the result, is the most horrifying thing which haunted you during school life. (;) just kidding)

Even your GF/wife might ask you “How much do you love me ?” and you reply 100% (err… this can’t be calculated in percentage :P).
